Information on crime is important to the Council because Community Safety is a statutory duty that  the Council takes seriously, as a key part of social wellbeing.

Trends in overall numbers of recorded crimes per thousand people in Kent Districts - these show that overall crime levels have been falling everywhere in Kent over the last three years, but that Thanet has a greater proportion of crime per thousand residents than all other Kent districts except Dartford.
