The main source of national information on crime is the Police, who supply information to the Home Office.

 

Why is information on crime important to Thanet District Council?

Information on crime is important to the Council because Community Safety is a statutory duty that  the Council takes seriously, as a key part of social wellbeing.

 

How much recorded crime is there in Thanet?

Trends in overall numbers of recorded crimes per thousand people in Kent Districts - these show that overall crime levels have been falling everywhere in Kent over the last three years, but that Thanet has a greater proportion of crime per thousand residents than all other Kent districts except Dartford.
