If I’m under 35 years-old and single with no dependants, will I get Housing Benefit?

Yes, although you will only be entitled to the rent level for a single room with shared facilities, unless you are severely disabled or you are under a care order and have been given accommodation under the Children’s Act. Please contact the Council’s Benefits Service for more information.

If you are under 35, but have a partner and/or children, your age will not affect the maximum Housing Benefit paid.
