How to pay your fixed penalty notice

1. Online

Use your Credit or Debit card to pay your fixed penalty notice online.

Please familiarise yourself with the terms and conditions and payments information as well as details on how your payment is processed. This information may change from time to time, so please review it on a regular basis.

2. Phone

Call 01843 577000. You will be asked for account information held on the ticket so please have your ticket to hand. Lines are open Monday to Thursday 8.45am-5.30pm and Friday 8.45am to5.00pm

3. Post

Cheques or postal orders should be made payable to Thanet District Council. You are advised to send payment by recorded delivery. Payment will be regarded as having been made at the time at which we receive your letter.

4. In Person

You can pay in person by cash or cheque at The Thanet Gateway Plus, Cecil Street, Margate.

Non payment

If payment has not been received after 14 days have elapsed

1. One further reminder will be sent.
2. The matter will then be referred to Court if no payment is made. In addition costs may be awarded against you.

If you appeal against the Penalty Notice, legal action will not be started until after any appeal is heard. If an appeal is allowed, no legal action will be started.

Appeals against the issue of the Notice

1. If you feel that the Notice is not reasonable or justified, you should put the reasons and evidence for this in writing to the Community Safety Officer.
   
2. An appeal must be made in writing within 14 days.
