Part P - Electrical Safety

Part P (Electrical Safety) is a new Building Regulation that came into force on 1 January 2005.

This means that the technical standard of electrical installation work in dwellings will be subject to statutory requirement, whether carried our professionally or DIY.

Any electrical work undertaken in dwellings, or garden areas, involving alterations and additions to existing installations, as well as new construction need to comply with Part P and other relevant parts of the Building Regulations and must be notified to Building Control.
