Eleven fully serviced industrial and trading estates provide ready built units of varying sizes. The larger sites are at:
Kent Innovation Centre - The Innovation Centre offers managed workspaces for supporting high growth, R&D, innovation and knowledge-based enterprises which will eventually outgrow the incubator units. 48 serviced offices offering High-tech, prestigious environment for start-ups and SMEs.
Margate Media Centre - managed office space for start-up and established media related companies.
Marlowe Innovation Centre - is a business centre offering affordable accommodation and support for innovative businesses completed in August 2008.
The Local Plan identifies land allocated for specific types of development and Thanet District Council's Planning and Building Control Departments can advise on statutory obligations relating to new build and conversions. The Council's Safety Officer can advise on building issues relating to employee Health and Safety guidelines.
Business rates are set by the UK Government and are based on the rateable value of the premises. Rateable values of commercial premises are independently assessed by the District Valuer and are reviewed every 5 years.
