for of all the groups, their key priorites and how often each
groups meet.
St John's Neighbourhood Action Group
The groups key priorities
are:
To improve the quality of life in the area by
tackling litter problems, planting trees & shrubs where
possible, confronting anti-social behaviour by recognising the need
for youth activities and encouraging residents to apply for a
Renewal Grant to improve the overall appearance of their
properties.
The group also work in partnership with the
council and invite them to their community meetings in an effort to
understand both sides expectations and limitations.
Group meetings are held fortnightly on a Tuesday
night at the St Johns Community Centre Victoria Road Margate (in
the grounds of St Johns Church) - Start time 7.30pm

Gordon Road Area Street Scheme (GRASS)
The groups key priorities are:
To provide help and advise for local
residents and to work with the Council, Police and the local
Councillors (i e PACT meetings) to improve the area.
To source funding each year for projects
including the annual organised events like the ‘Cliftonville
Games’ held at Dane Park on the 9th August
2008.
By fostering good neighbourliness, community
spirit, volunteering and encouraging residents to keep the area
clean of rubbish.
The group are also currently looking
into making their streets safer with the Home Zones scheme.
Group meetings are held fortnightly on a
Thursday night at the St Paul’s Community Centre St Paul’s Road
Cliftonville - start time 7.30pm

Surrey Road Area Action Group (SRAAG)
The groups key priorities are:
To improve all aspects of the local area and
building on the sense of neighbourliness with all local
residents.
Meetings are held approx every 6 weeks at the
Thanet Indoor Bowls Club Café, Eastern Esplanade, Cliftonville

Grotto Hill Area Street Scheme (GHASS)
The groups key priorities are:
To promote a warm, friendly community and an
environment this is clean and safe for all residents of all
ages.
Meetings are held at the Good Intent Public
House Bath Road Margate
Meeting are usually held monthly on the
2nd Wednesday of every month, start time 7pm

Dane Area Action Group (DAAG)
The groups key priorities are:
To help improve the are in what ever way it
can, which includes, clean-up days, and reporting any anti-social
behaviour, safety matters, graffiti and any dumping of bulk
rubbish.
To liase with KCC highways department
about the inadequate lighting and traffic going the wrong way in
one way streets.
To maintain contact with residents in the area
by issuing newssheets for time to time, about the committee
meetings held each month.
Meetings are held at the Good Intent Public
House Bath Road Margate.
Meeting are usually held on the last Wednesday
of every month, Start time 7pm.

Dalby Square Project (DSP)
The groups key priorities are:
To promote community spirit, by having a
gardening club and event in the square and gardens, working with
Thanet District Council and other groups.
Meetings are held at Innsbrook House Dalby
Square Margate
Meetings are held monthly, start time
7.30pm.

Gordon Road Residents Association
The groups key priorities are:
To facilitate better communications between
government organisations and the street to ensure that such things
as rubbish are collected and any problems can be resolved
quickly.
Meeting are usually held once a month on a
Tuesday, start time 7.30pm please phone first to confirm.
