SSCF Play- Who runs this place anyway?

On 2^nd November 2006 around seventy-five residents from Cliftonville West and Margate Central wards attended a play called “Who Runs This Place Anyway?”  The play funded by the Safer Stronger Communities Fund (SSCF), explained how local government works and showed how important it is for residents to have their say.

The play was the first community event organised by the SSCF programme.  The SSCF programme is funded by Central Government with the aim to transform Cliftonville West ward and Margate Central ward plus the green space of Dane Park into a Safer, Cleaner and Greener neighbourhood.  To achieve this target the SSCF programme has funded neighbourhood projects run by residents and organisations.

At the event participants were asked for their ideas on how the programme should spend the funding in order to improve the life of residents who live in the SSCF area and some of these ideas subsequently became projects funded by SSCF.
