Second Phase of Funding

A review was carried out of the allocated funding of Phase 1 projects against the strategic aims and objectives of the Thanet Works Strategy. During this review it was identified that there was a lack of financial investment from Thanet works funding in the following three areas:

 

● Private Sector investment

● Increased provision of childcare availability

● Directly targeted activity at youths who were known offenders.

 

Youth Offending Project

External Apprenticeship Scheme

Thanet Works Board has allocated £120,000 of funding to develop a Thanet apprenticeship scheme in order to provide support for young people in developing their confidence, skills, and experience. Equipping young people with the right skills and qualifications is crucial to encouraging business growth. The Thanet Apprenticeship Team, working in partnership with the employers, will enable young people to acquire industry relevant skills in the workplace, supported by approved training packages.
