Community Safety
What is Community Safety?
Community Safety is about community based and led action to
tackle crime and anti-social behaviour. It is about, not only
reducing crime but the fear of crime, and improving the quality of
community life through multi-agency partnerships between the
public, private and voluntary sectors. Community safety affects us
all: young and old, men and women, minority groups, special
interest groups, the business community, the voluntary sector,
victims and offenders. In truth, every one who lives, visits or
works in the area.
Thanet Community Safety Partnership
The Thanet
Community Safety Partnership, a group of organisations that
works to make Thanet a safer place to live, work and visit, has put
together a new plan covering the next three years.

Thanet Crime and Disorder Strategy
The Crime & Disorder Act 1998 require the local council plus
the local police and other partners to undertake an audit every
three years and then produce a three-year plan to tackle the
problems identified.
The Plan identifies the Partnership's aims, the key themes that
it believes must be addressed and the areas where the greatest
impact is needed. The Plan tells you what actions will be taken and
how we will judge if progress is being made.
If you are part of a local or community group and would like
members of the Partnership to attend one of your meetings to
