The Chapel is available for funeral services of any denomination and can be booked at 40-minute intervals Monday - Friday.
The crematorium has recorded music on tape or CD always available, or music of your own choice can be played.
Use of the organ and an organist is available on request.
Floral tributes are displayed in the courtyard cloisters to be viewed following the service and remain for a few days unless alternative arrangements are made by the family.
The cremated remains may be taken away or the following options are available:
The front lawns of the Crematorium provide an area where cremated remains can be buried. Locations are not marked but are recorded in the register to enable future remains to be buried in the same area.
Individual memorials are not possible but flowers can be placed in the crematorium cloisters and entries in the Book of remembrance or memorial plaques are available.
A special area of the crematorium grounds is reserved for the scattering of cremated remains. The area is divided in sections so that the location can be recorded in the register.
The exclusive right of burial to individual plots can be purchased. Headstones, memorial vases and flowers can be placed on these plots.
Maintenance of memorials and flowers is the responsibility of the plot owner and should be kept in good order.
The Federation of British Cremation Authorities has a question and answer information sheet (Questions people ask about Cremation) covering many aspects of the cremation service which may be of assistance. This relates to cremation in a national context, and should you have any queries on specific points please do not hesitate to ask at the Thanet Crematorium office or phone us.
