Help with Bereavement

As the death of a relative or friend is a very traumatic experience the following simple advice may be helpful. Once death has been certified by a doctor, either in hospital or at home, the first thing to do is to register the death.

A death is always registered at the Register Office for the district in which the death took place.

  • Local Registrars Office - Thanet with Dover
    The Superintendent Registrar,
    The Register Office,
    Aberdeen House,
    68 Ellington Road,
    Ramsgate,  Kent CT11 9ST
  • Telephone:  01843 591417  Births, Deaths and General enquiries
    e-mail: thanet.register-office@kent.gov.uk

For further information visit Kent Registration Services

Most people prefer to let a Funeral Director make all of the arrangements for them.  They have trained staff who can provide a comprehensive service, including making all the your arrangements with the Council.
