Scrutiny Panels

The Scrutiny Panels ensure that the decisions taken by the Executive are appropriate and they can 'call in a decision' after it has been made to prevent the decision taking immediate effect.

Standards Committee

The Council has a Standards Committee to promote high standards of conduct among its Councillors.

Other Committees

There will also be some "regulatory" Committees which will deal with things such as town and country planning and licensing matters.
