British Citizens living abroad can register to vote in Parliamentary and European Parliamentary Elections for up to 15 years after they were last registered in the UK.
An Overseas Electors Declaration must be completed and is valid for 12 months. It can be submitted at any time during the year but must be received by the Electoral Registration Officer within 3 months of being signed and dated. Three months before the registration expires, Electoral Services will send a reminder to the elector to re-apply.
You can apply for an absent vote to vote by post or appoint a proxy to vote on your behalf.
If requesting a postal vote to be sent overseas please consider whether there would be time to receive and return your ballot paper by polling day.
