Petitions

Signing a petition is one way for residents to express their concerns and priorities to their local authority.  The council has recently redesigned its petition scheme to make it easier for people to submit petitions.

Submitting an Petition

You can either submit a paper petition or use our new ePetition scheme.

Read the petition scheme guidance to find out how to submit a petition or an ePetition and how the Council will deal with it.

You can submit a paper petition to:

Democratic Services and Scrutiny Manager

Thanet District Council

PO Box 9

Cecil Street

CT9 1XZ

If you would like to talk to someone about submitting a petition, please call the Democratic Services team on 01843 577500.

Consultations

Before entering your petition you may want to check that the issue that you want to create a petition on is not the subject of a Council consultation

Signing an ePetition

To support an existing ePetition simple choose an ePetition and if you already subscribe to our updates feature which allows you to receive e-mails on council committees, enter your user name and password. If not, register with us by providing your name, and e-mail address.
