Budget Consultation

Residents' priorities for 2008-09

Last year members of the public, councillors, council staff and local businesses took part in a budget consultation to help shape council spending priorities for this year. 

From this consultation the areas identified as a high priority were:

• Boosting measures to prevent anti-social behaviour
• Economy and jobs - creating opportunities for investment and jobs
• Improving cleaning standards
• Cleaning up our town centres

The areas identified as a lower priority were:

• Thanet festival - delivering a three year programme of events for everyone
• Supporting a new town council in Ramsgate
• Developing better sport and play facilities

Where areas have been identified as a lower priority this has not meant that the service has stopped being provided, but means that this is an area which is reviewed to see whether reductions can be made.
