Consultation Overview

Thanet Council prepared a document called the Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) and we asked for the public's comments on the first draft.

This statutory document sets out how and when local people will be involved in the development of new planning documents, and outlines how we will consult the community on planning applications.

When was the consultation carried out?
17 February - 31st March 2006
Who was consulting?
Strategic Planning - Local Plans
Who was consulted?
The views of relevant groups, organisations and individuals wishing to comment on the range of issues to be taken into account at this stage in the process.
What was the outcome?

The public consultation period for the draft Statement of Community Involvement closed on Friday 31st March 2006.  The results were expected to be reported to Cabinet on 15th June.  The next stage after that will be for the revised SCI to be submitted to the Secretary of State and will undergo a further round of public consultation.

Earlier in the year, we published a questionnaire 'Be Part of the Plan', the results of which have been used to inform the SCI.  Please click the link to see a summary of the results of this questionnaire. Summary Questionnaire Results
