If so, we want to hear from you in our ‘I Love Dane Park’ public consultation, which runs from Wednesday 14 February until Friday 30 March 2007.
Voted one of the most popular parks in Thanet in 2004, Dane Park was presented to the Margate Borough Council by a local businessman at the end of the 19th century and first opened to the public in 1898 by the Lord Mayor of London. Today, it is still the main park for Margate residents.
Margate Civic Society asked Thanet District Council to see if the park could qualify for a Green Flag award.
Only five other parks in the whole of Kent have a Green Flag award and it’s hoped Dane Park could soon be added to that list.
Now we want to hear your views to help shape the future for Dane Park, so if you use the park or would like to use the park in the future please take this opportunity to get involved.
The consultation will be launched on Wednesday 14 February with the first of two open days in the park. Free celebrations and lots of activities for the whole family.
