The Gambling Act 2005 consultation
About the consultation
The Gambling Act 2005, which will be
implemented in 2007, makes significant changes to Gambling
Regulation. In particular, local authorities will now play a much
stronger role in the licensing of gambling premises and
facilities.
To enable implementation of the Act, Thanet
District Council has drawn up its draft Policy document. An
important part of the process in developing any new policy is to
engage with residents and businesses which may be affected to give
them an opportunity to give their views.
Over the next twelve weeks, from the
8th June to the 31st August, we will be
gathering feedback. You are invited to send in your comments on the
Thanet District Council Draft
Gambling Policy (24/5/06) PDF document as part of this
consultation exercise.
Should you wish to take part in this
consultation, please send comments on the draft policy by e-mail to
philip.bensted@thanet.gov.uk,
or by letter to:
Philip Bensted
Licensing Manager
