Private Housing Sector Enforcement Policy Consultation

Consultation overview

Your comments are being invited on the new Private Sector Housing (PSH) Enforcement policy brought about by the introduction of the Housing Act 2004. It explains how Thanet District Council as a Local Housing Authority (LHA) aims to tackle the many problems and issues present within the district, such as the high number of properties that fall within the private sector that are in poor repair, non-decent and have serious hazards.

Together with a new set of procedures this document contains information on how the enforcement tools, provided by the new legislation, can be used fairly and consistently to achieve improvement to housing in Thanet. This is a technical document, if anyone wishes to attend a meeting for further explanation, we will arrange one for this purpose.
