Westwood

Westwood will evolve and consolidate as Thanet’s principal retail centre and a mixed use residential and business community.

The former Eurokent business park will be allocated for mixed residential (400-600 new homes, mainly three and four bedroom houses) and compatible employment use (approximately 15 hectares). The existing residential allocation at Nash Road is retained and this has already been granted outline permission.

Relocation of Thanet College to a site adjoining Christ Church University Campus is supported.

Jackey Baker’s sports ground is promoted as the long-term primary sports venue, and improvement of the ground’s built facilities is supported.
