Independent reviews completed

Following the submission of the proposed new night-time flying policy by Manston Airport in September 2010, three pieces of technical work were completed by independent specialists Bureau Veritas on behalf of Thanet District Council.

The first was an independent technical review of the Night Noise Assessment which was prepared by Bickerdike Allen Partners on behalf of Manston Airport.  This assessment was submitted as part of the airport's proposal in September and explained the implications of the proposal.  The night-time flying policy, which is based on some of the findings of the Night Noise Assessment, was also reviewed within this report.  The second piece of work was a review of the night quota schemes at other UK Airports and the third was a Glossary of Terms.

All three pieces of work will be discussed at the next meeting of the Airport Working Party.
