You Said We did!

Summary of Accounts survey 2009

You Said:

  • The abbreviations used in the summary are not clear
  • Some people may not understand what a 'precept' is
  • Some categories are too vague
  • You would prefer to see brighter colours on the pie charts to make each breakdown more clear
  • Explanatory notes relating to the table headings would be useful
  • You were concerned that less money was being spent on certain areas without knowing why
  • You couldn’t find the survey online
  • You wanted to know if more information could be provided if people want to find out more
  • You wanted to see a percentage column added to the table to tie up with the pie chart on page 2

We did:

  • Provided full words and descriptions rather than giving abbreviations
  • Gave a full explanation of what a precept is within the summary
  • Provided additional notes to explain what each category is, where it is not immediately obvious
  • Used brighter colours within the pie chart, although we still feel this could be improved in the next edition
  • Added in notes to explain the headings within the tables
  • Added in explanations of any major differences in spending from the previous year
  • Added a link from the front page of the website directly to the correct webpage
  • Explained that Freedom of Information requests can be used to find out any further information that you are not satisfied has been provided within the summary.
  • Added in an additional column to the table to show the percentages that correspond to the pie chart on page 2.
