How do YOU want to find out about council services and information?

Consultation deadline extended to 1 March 2011.

We need to make sure that local people can get hold of important information about the services, benefits and advice we provide and that we are doing this in a clear and effective way.  We also have to make sure that in the current financial climate the council is spending its limited resources in the best possible way.

The council currently communicates key information and messages to residents in lots of different ways.  This includes:

  • online at www.thanet.gov.uk
  • magazines and newsletters e.g. Thanet Matters and Your Say
  • printed material like posters, leaflets and flyers
  • social networking e.g. Twitter and Facebook notifications
  • through local newspapers and radio stations

As the council will have less money to communicate with residents this means that the way we communicate with local people needs to change.  For example, more emphasis will be placed on getting information and advice on the council's website and the amount of printed material that the council provides will decrease.

With this in mind it is important to talk to local people first to find out what's important to you and to find out how you think the council should communicate with residents in the area.  We also want to know what you think of the council's corporate magazine, Thanet Matters.

Take part!

All surveys must be completed and returned by Tuesday 1 March 2011.
