Love Westwood Cross?

What do you think of the facilities at Westwood Cross? That was one of the main questions asked in a survey, commissioned by Thanet District Council during July.

Over 600 people reported what they like about the centre, what they would like to see improved and to assess whether leisure shopping habits have changed during the two years Westwood Cross has been open.

On the whole, responses were very positive with 90% of people rating the site as either very or quite good.

The main headlines showed most people liked the range of shops on site and the provision of free parking. Improvements they would like to see included a better choice of shops and having the facility undercover.

It also revealed that over half of those surveyed now go to Canterbury either less or far less frequently than before Westwood Cross opened.

The survey was carried out alongside Kent County Council research, looking at shopping and spending habits in the county. Findings will be used to inform future retail planning in Thanet.
