Interim Corporate Plan 2011 -12

Introduction

The Council’s Interim Corporate Plan set out the main goals 2011-2012. It provided a temporary replacement for the four-year plan from 2007-11 whilst the Council developed a new four-year plan to span 2012-16.

The coalition government introduced a number of changes and proposals that affect councils. These included reductions in the amount of grant received by local authorities. Thanet Council’s funding was cut by 5.29%. This was finalised in February 2011. Further changes to national policies which will affect Thanet are still being drawn up and regional partnership arrangements are still being discussed.

As new policies are developed nationally, regionally and at county level, the Council will ensure that it considers the consequences of these policies and takes action where necessary. This will include a review of the implications of the government’s Localism Act, Public Service (Social Value) Act and other legislative proposals.

The Council's Corporate Plan for 2012-2016  was approved on 19th April. It will be published in May 2012.
