There’s always a lot happening at Thanet District Council. But looking back over the last year there are some things we’re particularly pleased we’ve achieved for our residents....

Refuse collection and street cleaning team brought back in-house	Our beaches were awarded 7 Blue Flags - the most for any district in the UK	Kent Airshow was a major success with around 20,000 visitors to the event

Fairtrade – the Council backed the initiative to make Thanet a Fairtrade Isle	Broadstairs Folk Week was run successfully for the 18th year	The Margate Exodus culminating with the burning of Anthony Gormley’s rubbish man

A conservation area for Ramsgate was established	Lewis Crescent, Cliftonville – work starts to bring three empty properties back into use	Consultation for the Council’s four-year plan began, involving key groups from across Thanet
