Theme 2
Safe Neighbourhoods

• Make Thanet’s streets safer at night by:

a) introducing Community Wardens and Police Community Support Officers in the evening and at night time, using a targeted approach

b) using dispersal orders to prevent anti-social behaviour

c) using licensing powers to control establishments associated with night time problems

• Reduce levels of criminal damage in Thanet by 4%

• Take action with the Police and other key partners to reduce crime in the six wards with the highest crime levels

• Develop diversionary activities with the Youth Offending Service

• Improve the quality of life for residents on Council estates through robust policies to tackle anti-social behaviour by:

a) reviewing the Anti-Social Behaviour toolkit available to housing officers

b) signing up to and complying with the Respect agenda
