Annual Performance Report 2007-08

Introduction

This report shows the council's progress against the 6 key themes outlined in our Corporate Plan 2007-11.

Each theme is broken down into three sections:

• Theme performance indicators for 07/08
• Theme project progress
• Theme targets for future years

At the end of this report there is corporate information relating to human resources.

Summary

2007/08 has seen a positive start to our new corporate plan. Every theme has made substantial progress on all projects. Performance indicators are generally improving. This year, 74.3% performance indicators have improved or stayed the same compared to the previous year. This is an improvement on last year, where 63.7% improved or stayed the same.

Some key highlights are: sickness for last year saw the Council beat the target, reaching less than 8 days and new benefit claims on average being processed in well under target at less than 20 days. Also, all Council buildings accessible to the public are now compliant with the Disability Discrimination Act.
