Theme 3: Beautiful Thanet

Why is it a priority?

• The MORI Survey revealed that ‘clean streets’ was the second highest priority for residents of Thanet and that residents felt clean streets would help make Thanet a good place to live
• The top five services important to the residents of Thanet are all related to establishing a cleaner greener Thanet
  - refuse collection - maintain cleanliness standards for the beaches and coastline of Thanet - improve and maintain excellent street cleaning - improve recycling services - maintain cleanliness standards for the parks and open spaces of Thanet
• Climate change is high on the national agenda and here in Thanet it is important to have a positive impact on the environment. We recognise the importance of the natural environment and the need to maintain the biodiversity of the area.
