1 Be the ‘Employer of Choice’ in Thanet by:      
1a) improving the working environment for staff Year 2, 2009 Phase I completed, the contact centre is now located on the third floor in the old committee rooms. 2 Extend customer contact facilities across Thanet  
2a) open the integrated library/one-stop-shop in central Margate Year 2, 2009 Thanet's Gateway Plus opened on January 7th 2008, on budget. All project milestones met
2b) extend Council services to Ramsgate (using new library to provide Council services Year 4, 2011 Discussions with Kent Libraries will take place when plans for the re-build of Ramsgate Library are in place. Majority of project milestones met
2c) introduce a ‘Mobile Gateway’ with Kent County Council Year 1, 2008 Completed - this was launched at the Kent County show and was also show-cased at TDC during Customer Services Week, and also took part in the Gateway launch, visiting Ramsgate, Broadstairs and Westwood Cross. 3 Develop and publish a ‘People’s Charter’ that describes service standards to be delivered by the Council Year 1, 2008 Final draft sent to Cabinet.  It is now being distributed in July.  Now called "Residents' Charter" following feed-back from focus group All project milestones met
4 Develop Improvement Plan in response to Audit Commission recommendations Year 1, 2008 Advised by Audit Commission not to write an Improvement Plan.  Project withdrawn.  
5 Reduce the overall amount of accommodation used by the Council by:  
5a) reducing the storage of paper by 50%  Year 3, 2010 Good progress is being made in rolling out Corporate DIPS. Complaints and Ombudsman processes are live and 2 out of 3 housing modules. Work is underway with Housing, Development Control. All project milestones met
5b) relocating 70% of office staff into main building Year 4, 2011 Phase I complete – contact centre has been relocated to the third floor. All project milestones met
6 Increase customer satisfaction with the Council from 53% to 60% by 2011  
7 Achieve 3% cash savings year-on-year Year 4, 2011 Budget development for 2008-2011 will be progressed so as to deliver 3% cashable savings.  These proposals were reported to Cabinet and Council in February.
In respect of 2004-2007, the final AES will be due in July 2008 which requires annual savings of 3% (cashable and non cashable) which, based on the forward look for 07/08, will be achieved.

9 Develop comprehensive information management system to support delivery of Corporate Plan to include:

10 Implement a complaints logging and response system including Freedom of Information and Member enquiries  Year 2, 2009 The Council's new complaints system went live on 1st August 2007 and is being monitored by the Complaints Working Group.  A separate process for managing Ombudsman’s complaints is in place. Root cause analysis work is also being carried out which will enable service improvement and, ultimately, reduce the amount of complaints being received. Continuous improvement to the process are being made, in response to end user feedback, moving from 75% to 81% in January. Work underway to review ways to reduce end user dependence on Project Office for support with processing. All project milestones met
