1c) using dispersal orders to prevent anti-social behaviour Year 4, 2011 A dispersal order was introduced to Broadstairs last summer to tackle underage drinking and gatherings of youths. 1e) extending CCTV coverage and monitoring during night time periods Year 4, 2011 CCTV has been extended to Margate old town and Newington with all new cameras now operational. There will be an extensive review with a CCTV policy presented to cabinet in November 2008. All project milestones met
2 Reduce levels of criminal damage in Thanet by 4% year-on-year to 2011 Year 4, 2011 Criminal damage has decreased by 10.9% during the past 12 months. Concerted effort has been made to prosecute graffiti taggers in particular. 3 Take action with the Police and other key partners to reduce crime in the six Thanet wards with the highest crime levels Year 4, 2011 PACT Panels are now up and running in the six target areas. Operation Cleansweep took place in Cliftonville West in October 2007. Crime levels have reduced by 7% in the district and 11% in the six key wards. All project milestones met
4 Develop diversionary activities with the Youth Offending Service Year 4, 2011 Several projects funded. Youth strategy developed and agreed. Youth related crime identified in strategic assessment and Community Safety Strategy as a priority All project milestones met
5 Improve the quality of life for residents on Council estates through robust policies to tackle anti-social behaviour by:  
5a reviewing the Anti-Social Behaviour toolkit available to housing officers Year 3, 2010 Draft policy and procedure 90% complete. The toolkit has been reviewed and a more concerted effort will be taken during the next 12 months with a new senior ASB officer being recruited in April to work with housing officers to use the powers available.
