Abandoned Vehicles

Abandoned vehicles (vehicles which are untaxed and unused) are a growing problem throughout the district. 

When reporting an abandoned vehicle

• please make sure that you have the following vehicle information:
  • Make
  • Model
  • Colour
  • Registration
  • Location of the vehicle
  • Is the car in a dangerous condition e.g. fuel cap missing?
  • Is the car taxed

• Report an abandoned vehicle online here

If the vehicle has no tax and this is the only thing wrong with the vehicle, you need to contact the DVLA on 0800 325 202 and they will investigate further.

Disposing of your old vehicle

If you have an old car to dispose of or surrender, please dont abandon it in the street. Why not use the Council's collection service?
