The site is used as a car park but has a very low level of use and is subject to illegal dumping.
Policy EC8 applies, as this is part of the Ramsgate waterfront. The site would also be subject to a flood risk assessment. The site is next to areas designated of nature conservation importance.
There are no legal issues that would affect potential redevelopment.
Redevelopment of the site would overcome the problem of ’fly tipping’ and reduce the Council’s costs, providing a capital receipt.
There may be cost implications associated with any additional work required in connection with the flood risk assessment. This could impact upon the viability of any scheme. Proximity to the cliff also needs to be considered.
That Cabinet supports disposal of the site via the approved Asset Management, Strategy, progressing it to public consultation.
