Satellite Dishes
Conservation Areas
In designated areas such as a Conservation
Area, the installation of a satellite dish/antenna may require
planning permission.
For more information please see 'A
Householder's Planning Guide for the Installation of Antennas,
including Satellite Dishes' (available at
www.communities.gov.uk to view on-line, download or order free
of charge). You can also contact planning services on 01843 577150
or planning.services@thanet.gov.uk for
further advice.
Listed Buildings
If your property is a Listed Building you will always require
Listed Building Consent from the Council to install a dish. To find
out whether your property is listed, you can contact us on 01843
577141 or Conservation-&-Listed-Buildings@thanet.gov.uk.
When considering any application for satellite dishes/antenna
the Council will look at whether the dish/antenna has been sited so
as to minimise the effect on the appearance of the building and
more generally whether the dish/antenna will have an acceptable
impact on the character and appearance of the conservation area
and/or listed building.
