Planning and Enforcement Appeals are managed by the Planning Inspectorate.
Planning and Enforcement Appeals may be submitted online via the Planning Casework Service (part of the Planning Portal).
Download a list of planning appeals that have been lodged against Thanet District Council and are currently awaiting determination by the Planning Inspectorate. This list will be updated regularly.
Householder planning applications submitted to the Council will be the subject of a fast track householder appeals service should an appeal be lodged against the Council's decision to refuse permission.
The aim of this is to provide a faster, more efficient way of dealing with such appeals. If you wish to appeal you will have only 12 weeks from the Council's decision date in which to lodge an appeal, and the Planning Inspectorate promises to make a decision on the appeal within 8 weeks. All such appeals will be dealt with by written representation only, based on the planning authority's application file, and a written statement from the appellant, and third parties, including neighbours will only get one opportunity to comment on the proposal at the planning application stage. See Guidance on Householder Appeals
For householder appeals, a dedicated Householder Appeal Form is available:
This form should be used to appeal against refusals on householder applications.
New variation of "Notice under Article 6 and 9(1) of Appeal" in the GDPO specifically for householder development
