Planning Applications

Viewing Planning Applications

To look at applications online the Council works in partnership with UKPlanning.com which provides online access to valid planning applications and a weekly list of planning applications.

To view a Thanet planning application on a map, you can search either by street, or by using the planning application reference number.

The mapping is provided for information and guidance only and should not be used to inform decisions that may have legal implications.  See online mapping terms and conditions

Making a Planning Application

The council works with the Planning Portal to provide the facility to make planning applications online, supported by online help and general planning guidance.

Planning applications can be submitted with supporting documents and paid for online.  Alternatively forms can be printed off and sent to the council with payment.

A location plan must be provided for all planning applications.

Pre-application Advice

From 01 January 2011 Thanet District Council introduced a system of charging for providing pre-application planning advice.

The council can provide pre application advice to people who are considering making a planning application for development or listed building application on a particular site before they submit their planning application.
