Pre-Application Planning Advice

On 01 January 2011 Thanet District Council introduced a system of charging for providing pre-application planning advice.

This follows the recommendation of the Planning and Building Control User Group to introduce pre-application charging and was approved by Members on 16 December 2010.

The council can provide advice to people who are considering making a planning application for development or listed building application on a particular site before they submit their planning application.

There is a charge for this advice. These fees cover administration costs and the time spent in research, assessment, a meeting if necessary, and in making a written response.
