FreegleThanet

The Freegle Network is an internet based, grassroots, entirely non profit, movement of people who are giving (and getting) items for free thus keeping useful items out of landfill.

The Freegle movement started in 2009 in the UK and the basic idea is simple and based on the maxim that "one person’s rubbish is another person’s treasure".

Members post their unwanted items - including computers, furniture, toys, musical instruments and even cars - on a yahoo e-mail based site.

They can also post "Wanted" messages. Each group has a volunteer moderator who keeps an eye on the postings and helps promote the Freegle Network.

The FreegleThanet group is proud to be a founder member of this network and has an ever growing membership of over three thousand.

Membership is free, and everything posted must be FREE, legal and appropriate for all ages.

To view the items being given away or sought in Thanet, you must be a member of the local group.
