Thanet Freecycle
The Freecycle Network™ is made up of over five million members
across the globe. It's an internet based, grassroots, entirely non
profit movement of people who are giving (and getting) items for
free thus keeping good items out of landfill.
The Freecycle movement started in 2003 in America and has swept
the world. The basic idea is simple and based on the maxim
that “one person’s rubbish is another person’s treasure”.
Members post their unwanted items - including computers,
furniture, toys, musical instruments and even cars - on a yahoo
e-mail based site. They can also post “Wanted”
messages. Each group has a volunteer moderator who keeps an
eye on the postings and helps promote the Freecycle Group.
The Thanet Freecycle group was set up in August 2005 and now has
over two thousand members.
Membership is free, and everything posted must be FREE, legal
and appropriate for all ages.
To view the items being given away or sought in Thanet, you must
