Clinical Waste

Clinical waste, including needles, must not be placed in your normal sack or dustbin, it must be collected and dealt with separately as 'special waste'.

Thanet District Council offers a free collection for clinical waste from private households.  Yellow sacks are collected weekly and sharps boxes are normally collected on request.

The Waste & Recycling department needs confirmation in writing from your doctor or other medical authority before collections can be arranged.
