Wheeled Bins  - Did you know?

• Your domestic BLACK lidded bin will be collected on one week and your recycling BLUE lidded bin will be collected the next week. We are operating an alternate week collection service so please refer to your collection calendar to see when your bins will be collected

• You can’t recycle glass in your blue lidded bin, but you can still recycle glass at your nearest recycling site (or put it into your BLACK lidded bin which will go into the landfill site)

• Do not put your garden waste in your BLACK lidded bin - why not try composting or taking your garden waste to one of the household waste and recycling sites for recycling or subscribe to Thanet District Council's garden waste collection service.

• Our collection teams are not allowed to remove large bulky items for health and safety reasons but you can take any large rubbish items to the local Civic Amenity Sites at Manston Road, Margate or at Sandwich Road, Richborough, or alternatively you could contact us to arrange for a bulky waste collection for as little as £7.20 per item

• Thanet District Council has made the decision NOT to chip its new wheeled bins

• You can paint your house number on your bin to make it easy to identify
