Tenants & Leaseholders Consultation Forum
The Forum is a formal consultative body of 15 tenants and
leaseholders who work in partnership with the council to influence
decisions on housing services.
Thanet District Council tenants and
leaseholders have an opportunity to become a member of the forum,
by standing in the elections, which are held every 3 years.
The elections held in early 2007 resulted in
residents’ associations nominating 8 members and tenants and
leaseholders elected 7 tenant representatives.

Some of the issues that the Forum members will
be involved in are:
- Monitoring the Tenants & Leaseholders
Consultation Agreement
- Setting /reviewing service standards for:
rent recovery, care taking, estate management, disabled
adaptations.
- Monitoring performance.
- Reviewing of Anti Social Behaviour
procedures.
- Consulted on Maintenance and Repair
budgets.
- Consulted on Service Plan.
An Action Plan has been developed to ensure
the Tenants & Leaseholders Consultation Agreement is effective
and to assist the Forum to monitor it.
