Thanet District Council Housing Strategy 2006 -10
We will use all our energy and available resources to make Thanet
somewhere that is economically successful, visually attractive,
vibrant and stimulating, and a safe place in which to live and
work. We will seek to provide high quality public services
that meet the needs of all residents. (Corporate Plan)
The Housing Strategy will help realise this vision and effect a
fundamental improvement in choice, supply, quality and
accessibility of housing available to Thanet people through the
following key strategic priorities:
- Improving standards and fitness of Private Sector Housing
- Meeting the demand for affordable housing across the
District
- Promote housing activity in the Renewal Area
- Improve choice and access to housing for all communities in the
District
- Tackling homelessness
These priorities are detailed in the new Housing Strategy Action
Plan which can be found at Annex A.
