Equality Objectives Plan

As required by the Public Sector Equality Duty (Specific Duties), the Council has published its Equality Objectives Plan

Equality Impact Assessments (EIAs)

Equality Impact Assessments are a useful tool to enable us to assess the implications of our decisions, policies and services on the community we serve.

EIAs enable us to:

• Design our services around our customers in a way that meets their needs
• Spot barriers to accessing our services or information relating to our services for different groups of people
• Spot potential discrimination
• Identify potential difficulties for our customers and design ways to remove them
• Identify groups that are not engaging with us and design ways to reach them
• Review our workforce to ensure fair access to employment, promotion and training
