Filming in Thanet
"The skies over Thanet are the loveliest in all
Europe"
J.W.Turner
The Isle of Thanet has a prestigious and colourful history,
which is reflected, in its changing and dramatic architecture. In
Roman times the area was separated from the mainland by the Wantsum
Channel but it’s now part of the mainland encompassing the three
beautiful coastal towns of Margate,
Ramsgate and Broadstairs and eight rural villages. Surrounded by 26 miles of sandy
beaches on the south east coast of Kent,
it is also home to the only royal harbour in the UK, all this and
more are available to film in just over an hour's drive from the
outskirts of London.
