Disabled children are specifically designated as children in need by the Children Act and are therefore eligible for services that will help them achieve their full potential. A range of community based services are provided, alongside specialist services such as occupational therapy, services for children with sensory disabilities and respite care, to enhance the child's quality of life and promote their independence.
