Sports Development

The Sports Development team play an important role at the Council, supporting sport and physical activity in the District. We work with other key personnel from Health, Education, Youth and National Governing Bodies to ensure activities are open to everyone. 

The team offer support to local clubs, help create links between the community and schools, promote mass participation for local people, work to improve the sporting facilities available and highlight the importance of a healthy lifestyle.

Fantastic new scheme launched to help talented performers from Thanet

Free Access for County Sports People (FACS) is a new scheme being piloted by Thanet District Council. It's aim is to support talented performers from Thanet progress to the next level by providing free entrance to the District's Leisure Centres for training.
