Get Into Coaching - Free Coaching Courses!

Thanet Sports Network is launching a fantastic new coaching scheme this year with the aim of 'recruiting' new sports coaches in the district. Do you have club members, parents etc that want to get involved?

'Get into Coaching' offers free training, support and placement opportunities to people who are interested in coaching but do not have a relevant qualification. Following some training and coaching experience, candidates will be put onto a National Governing Body level 1 award. For some who show extra proficiency there may also be further funding later in the year to do a level 2 qualification.

See if your sport is eligible by reading the Get into Coaching information and application form (pdf) and make sure the information is given out to current club members, parents etc. More information can be gained by emailing Mads Olsen on coach.manager@ursuline.kent.sch.uk

  • The first induction meeting is Tuesday 26th January 2010 at Ursuline College.

Coaches Database

The team is currently compiling a database of qualified coaches working in the area. To add your name to this  database, e-mail martyn.cassell@thanet.gov.uk

Volunteers

The sports sector has a higher number of volunteers than any other sector and without this sports clubs would not be able to survive.

However, we are looking to increase the number of volunteers in the district by offering guidance and information on how to get involved.

Contact us for more information on coaching or volunteering.
