Sport 4 NRG

Tackling young offenders with a sporting alternative

The aim of Sport 4 NRG is to develop sport as a diversionary activity for young people who may have offended, or may be “at risk” of offending, in the hope that we can prevent them from getting involved in youth crime, and divert them towards socially acceptable leisure activities.

The age group for Sport 4 NRG is 12 – 17.

Sport 4 NRG is funded and delivered by Thanet District Council following the successful 3-year Sport England funded project.

Free Sports Leadership training and Work Placements

The project is now offering free sports leadership training to young people aged 14 - 17 who are unsure about what they want to do after leaving school.

The training will help young people learn how to communicate in different settings, plan and deliver sports sessions safely and improve self confidence.

Following the training there will be opportunities for short work placements with local organisations and advice on how to get into employment.

If you would like to find out how you could attend these FREE sports sessions, please contact us.
