Expressions of Interest Notice: Margate Library/Gateway
Refurbishment
Thanet District Council and Kent County
Council are working in partnership to achieve a total refurbishment
of Margate Library. The vision behind the project is to create a
building that will become a Gateway to wider public and community
services to residents in the second most deprived community in the
South East of England.
Expressions of interest are now sought from
companies wishing to be considered to refurbish the building once
construction is complete.
The successful company will provide the
shelving, service areas and associated furniture for a modern
library. They will also be required to provide the service
areas, the waiting area and associated furniture for a modern,
customer focused service delivery area for the delivery of council,
voluntary and community based services. Key competencies
required include interior design, procurement of furniture and
co-ordination of its installation, as well as cost planning and
value engineering.
The attention of interested parties is
drawn to the aim of this notice, namely to compile a shortlist of
candidates selected on the basis of relevant expertise and
experience, to include appropriate level of pre-qualification. It
does not guarantee an invitation to tender.
Expressions of interest must be submitted in
writing or by e-mail by 12 noon on Friday 16th February 2007. Once
expressions of interest have been received pre-qualification
documents will be issued for completion. These will need to be
returned by Friday 9th March 2007.
